Modular kitchen cost calculator
Most calculators hand you a range and hide the arithmetic. This one shows the build-up — 12 sqft of carcass per running foot, 7 sqft of shutter, 2 fittings — so you can check it against your own rates and argue with it.
Written for the designer doing the quoting, not the homeowner. Free, no signup, nothing to download.
Total length of base cabinets. An L-shape is both arms added together.
Shutter finish
The default on most Indian kitchens. Hard-wearing, cheapest to replace.

Not a designer? This page works out what a kitchen costs to build. If you want it actually built — .
What the market charges
₹95,000 – ₹1,40,000
₹9,500–₹14,000 per rft · 2.1× to 3.1× your cost sheet
That gap is not padding. It is everything the cost sheet leaves out:
- Wastage — 5–10% on sheet goods
- Accessories — ₹40,000–80,000 is normal
- Supervision and site management
- Transport, loading, debris
- Rework — it happens on most jobs
- Overhead, and profit
Quote at ₹5,346 per rft because your cost sheet said ₹4,455 and you have not won on price — you have agreed to work for nothing and buy the accessories yourself.
Not included above — and clients assume it is
Chimney, hob, sink, RO and oven. Appliances are the single most common argument on a kitchen job. Put them on the quote as their own lines with a zero or a note — a line the client read is a line they cannot be surprised by.
Want this as a quote your client can approve?
Houscade builds the same thing off your rates instead of these, room by room with GST on every line, and sends it as a link the client opens on their phone and approves in one tap.
Not sure your own rates are right?
Send me your last kitchen quote and I'll tell you where it's leaking — which lines are under, what's missing, what the client will argue about. Free, no signup, and I'll reply myself.
The finishes, honestly
- Laminate₹9,500–14,000 per rft, all-in
- The default on most Indian kitchens. Hard-wearing, cheapest to replace.
- Membrane₹11,000–16,000 per rft, all-in
- Seamless PVC over MDF. Good for shaker profiles; heat is its enemy.
- Acrylic₹15,000–22,000 per rft, all-in
- High gloss, shows fingerprints, photographs beautifully.
- Veneer₹17,000–26,000 per rft, all-in
- Real wood face. Every panel differs, which is the point and the risk.
Rates here are indicative and move with the market. The point is the method: quantities follow the counter run, and the price follows your own rates. The full write-up goes through where the money actually goes.
